I have a 92 land rover/ range rover and its air suspension went out, i was told that the cheaper way to fix this problem would be to put shocks on it. how hard is it to do it or am i just getting screwed?|||Take a look on the internet. Do google search for "Range Rover air bag eliminator kit". Not a super hard job. But not a;ways for the do-it-yourselfer.|||Yes but it is not as simple as it sounds. There are suppliers who do kits for the conversion. You will need an item to fool the body computer that suspension is still present.
You will also need spring and spring mounts as well as shock.s
Why would you want to do this? What has failed on the system? A leaking air bag can be simply replaced. Springs have to be cone in pairs, air bags can be done individually. Leaking pipes are simple enough to fix and a replacement compressor is not very expensive. The ride is not as good on springs. If you are going to use it as an off road toy maybe otherwise stay with the air ride.
The best solution is to go to a good independent specialist and get their advice on the problems and the solution.|||Amanda, I don't know for sure if you're getting screwed, but it is definitely cheaper to convert your vehicle over to shocks rather than pay the price for new parts needed to return it to original configuration.
