How do i change the gear gator on a rover cityrover select?

My daughter has just bought a Rover Cityrover Select (2003) and wants to customise it by changing the existing gear stick and handbrake gators with a different coloured one. Any idea on how it is done?|||Is a gear 'gator' similar to a Crocodile clip?|||What were you thinking, letting your daughter buy an Indian reject car which was imported by Rover in Kit form %26amp; assembled in the now defunct Longbridge factory. As others have said the 'car' has absolutely no redeeming features%26amp; the best thing about driving it is when you get out %26amp; walk!! Customise it by leaving in in a breakers yard %26amp; have it crushed to a cube - it will be more reliable then. Even the long gone Metro was a better car - especially the VR6|||There should be a grubscrew on the gear lever and some screws on the handbrake under a flap near the gator.

It simply is not worth the effort. City rovers have an atrocious track record for reliabiltiy and when even Rover used to admit this you know the alarm bells should ring.

The City Rover was so appaling Rover refused to allow BBC's Top Gear to test drive it!

Get rid. Quickly.|||Contact a MG Dealer, But what a wrong car to buy! Rover are no longer!
