Since Range Rover engines a very unreliable i was going to switch it out with a Ford Engine, or could you suggest another brand thats reliable and i can easily find a new engine? Also how much would getting them switched out cost, and how much can a new range rover engine sell for, with under 2k miles?|||Switching out an engine has a lot more involved than just matching the cubic inch displacement.
Cost involved? Around 5000-6000, as a starting price.
If you want a replacement, new engine....$10,000. Easily.|||Also the displacement of an engine, does not equal how big the block is
even so you can't just bolt a ford engine into a Range Rover, you will need to do lots of fabrication, probably get a whole new trans, wire it up properly, its no easy task. Getting a mechanic to switch the engines will be very expensive like the other person said I wouldn't be surprised if it reached 10,000 + parts.
