I own a 1955 Rover p4 which has leather bench seats. the seats have seen better days and either need recovering or seat covers for them. i can always ask my car club for some but I want to search elsewhere before hand. Im thinking maybe some place like italy or somewhere around there maybe cheaper than the UK have this done.
Any one out there have any good suggestions,
Regards

How do i remove a standard built in radio from a Rover 414 SLI?
i'm looking to replace my radio in my Rover but i can't seem to remove i'm looking for some professional advice can u help me?|||If its like any other car, you should see one or two small holes either side of the radio. Using the correct din-pins (available from most motoring shops eg halfords for about 3-5quid), push into the holes until you hear a click. Simply pull backwards on the pins, and hey-presto, the stereo should come away.

What is wrong or need to be fixed in order to fix my annoying engine noise on my rover 25?
My rover 25 keeps making a like reeeeeeee noise and gets louder the more rev's so if anyone has a cule or knows then let me know thanks.|||Uh oh. Did you say a "REEEEEEEEE" noise? That could mean you're out of headlight fluid. Or your spare transmission could be bad.
Here are some diagnostic tips:
1) "REEEEEEEEEEEEE" - Engine/Transmission/Headlight Fluid
2) "WHIIRRR WHIRRRR WHIRRRRR" - Battery/Tire Pressure
3) "BLIKA BLIKA BLIKA BLIKA BLIKA" - Turn signal lamp
4) "MMRRRRRR MRRRRRRRRRRRR MRRRRRRRR" - Bad windshield
5) "TOO PAKA TOO PAKA TOO PAKA" - Your tires flubber levels might be low.
You need to call a mechanic and tell him you suspect your starter motor needs to be remagnetized.|||it might be the water pump or power steering pump bearing.|||Take it to a local mechanic

Why are Dogs generally called Rover and Fido?
Where do these names come from?
Do you have a dog called either Rover or Fido?|||Fido was the name of Abraham Lincoln's dog.
Also Fido is Latin for I'm faithful.
Makes sense to be popular then right?
I'm not sure about Rover. Never heard anything about it, hopefully someone will explain.|||Rover, because dogs tend to roam, and Fido, which means I am faithful in Latin, were pupular once but now human names are the trend, with Max the top name for boy dogs and Maggie tops for girls.
The only names on the Top 40 that don't sound like human names are Buddy, Buster, Sparky and Princess.
Maybe the change is because we tend to humanize dogs more than our parents and grandparents did.
I've never had a dog named Rover or Fido but in a few years, these names will probably seem campy and cute|||Fido from the Latin 'fides'; faithful.
Rover I haven't heard, I assume it relates to the amount of ground a dog can cover. Dalmatians used to be called 'carriage dogs' because they could (and did) run alongside carriages for miles.
And I never met a dog called Rover, but my granddad (a Latin scholar) had a dog called Fido.|||Never met a dog called Fido.
Do no someone who has a Rover. (He started off as Max), But as soon as he knew the difference between boys and girls, he was off "roving" around anytime a ****** in their area came in season. They have now had him neutered but he is used to the name now.
I wonder though why so many people have GSDs called Shane.|||~ Fido was the name of Abraham Lincoln's dog.

Some names are just more common than others.|||I don't know one dog called those names or ever have.|||guess those folks don't know about googling dog names.%26lt;g%26gt;|||These are just some old, common names for dogs. I also believe they might be cartoon names. None come to mind, but I'm sure there are a few. I do not have a dog named Rover or Fido. Nor do I ever see naming a dog one of these names. I've never met a dog named this either. Head to a park, and call out "Rover!" or "Fido!", and you're not likely to see any dogs come running. But call out "Max!" or "Jessie!" and get ready for a stampede. Yes, Rover, Fido, Spot and Patch are well and truly out of fashion as dogs' names. Their place has been taken by names that sound very similar to the ones we're giving our children. Max, Sam, Jack, Jake, Jessie, Molly, Chloe and Lucy: these could be toddlers in a playgroup or dogs in a kennel. Is this yet another sign that we're seeing dogs as members of the family rather than just animals?
Amy Lyden from the national pet tag company Bow Wow Meow certainly thinks so.

Is it still possible to get spares for Rover cars?
I have just bought a Rover 45 and am a little worried that i will not be able to buy spares for it should anything go wrong. Do you know of anywhere that manufactures Rover parts?|||Yes.
MG-Rover did not supply the spare parts to dealers, they awarded that contract to a company called X-Part, which is a division of Caterpillar Logistics.
X-Part still exists, and still supplies spare parts for Rover cars.
See http://www.xpart.com/ for details of your local stockist (usually a former MG-Rover dealer).
Alternatively, there are still a large number of Rovers on UK roads, some of which will be involved in accidents or suffer expensive failures (like with any other car) which means they become a supply of used spare parts through breakers yards.|||I've got an old Rover 200 and I can still get spares, in fact it is at the garage now. I've managed to get some off ebay before, don't worry too much unless your car needs alot done to it. I have to admit I know a pretty good mechanic who isn't a cowboy and that can save money too if anything goes wrong.|||yes you can one good thing about rovers is that they used standard parts , eg lucas etc. scrap yards are full of rovers too. you'll be fine for a few years yet or until the rover rot sets in|||They'll be available for a long time in breakers yards. My father in law has a rover and hasnt had any problems getting spares xxx|||ye check ebay or a scrap yard.thats the cheapest option. if you can buy them from a garage u will most deffo pay over the odds so to speak|||I don't think it should be a problem - parts are still being produced.|||im not sure, and not trying to be mean but you should have checked before you bought it|||moss of europe ltd, nr heathrow,|||yes but i think they will be quite expensive. sorry to be th bearer of bad news

I have a rover acr how do i find their web address?
i have a rover 825td and need a nw radiator for it. i want to find as much information about rover radiators as possible.|||You might be best trying a radiator specialist (look in Yellow Pages).
Alternatively, the "official" supplier of parts for Rover cars is XPart (http://www.xpart.com/html_content/OEPart鈥?/a> )
Rover as a company no longer exists.
The assets of the company now belong to SAIC of China, following their merger with NAC-MG.
The Rover brand name belongs to Ford at present, who bought it from its previous owners (BMW) to protect their Land Rover brand. However, Ford is expected to announce the sale of Land Rover (%26amp; Jaguar) next week to the Indian company Tata, and may include the Rover brand in that sale.|||As rover no longer exist you won't find much information about.
The good news is that a new radiator should not be hard to come by|||I buy my Rover bits and bobs from:-
